While speaking to my mother, I found myself distracted by the black fly I saw under the sunroof the kitchen. Immobile, the fly was hanging in the air alone. I’d never seen a fly on its own in the air. Perhaps it was dead and caught in an invisible cobweb. Or my vision is changing such that I can now see suspended flies in the air. This is an example of the moments I have during the week when I stare in awe at something new.
